Environmental Land Grab? Constituent Accuses Michael Beck of Conflict of Interest

While it’s a bit old, I still found this video testimony about a possible conflict of interest by Director of the Endangered Habitats League (EHL), president of the Endangered Habitats Conservancy (EHC), and San Diego County Planning Commissioner Michael Beck worth noting.

A North County resident, Ginger Perkins, provided the San Diego County Board of Supervisors testimony in this video clip during a recent public meeting that makes a rather interesting connection.

She claims Beck, as a public official, has recommended down zoning land from 2 acres to 20 which his employer, EHL, seems to now want to purchase.

In the video, the constituent calls for Beck’s removal from his public position and requested that the County Counsel launch a public investigation.

I did a quick online search to see if anyone’s looked into this alleged conflict of interest and turned up nothing.

Any government watchdogs or County development gurus out there know the 411 on this situation? Please share.
