Focuses on Grassroots Fundraising Push During June
San Diego – Mayoral candidate Carl DeMaio announced an aggressive grassroots fundraising push with 25 events scheduled in 23 days during the month of June.
“I’m up against the labor unions and downtown special interests,” said DeMaio. “That means I have to raise money from the community. I’m going to do exactly that.”
The events are community based, with co-hosts bringing attendees in each community, with over 500 co-hosts total across the events.
DeMaio believes that in order to get the city’s financial crisis solved, we need to get residents from every neighborhood in the city involved.
“It’s not about a specific dollar amount. It’s about developing buy-in from the residents I’m asking to be my partners in this reform effort,” said DeMaio.
“From the support I’ve seen over the past year, I’m confident we will raise the resources we need to get our reform message out to every voter. I’m asking residents who support my vision to partner with me in this reform effort, which is why I will be matching each dollar donated with a dollar of my own.”
