SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Brian Jones, R-Santee, today responds to Governor Brown’s most recent comments on California’s realignment plan, which he calls a “historic accomplishment.” Realignment shifted low-level offenders from state prison to county jails and is actually proving to be what Jones describes as a “historic disaster.” In San Diego County alone, 11 men who were released on county probation have been charged with violent crimes. Jones says, “It is anything but an accomplishment when criminals are making our streets less safe. The Governor and Legislative Democrats are failing to protect law abiding citizens.”
