San Diego – After announcing the launch of San Diego County Gun Owners PAC (SDCGO) on October 21st, we have received an outpouring of support from San Diego County residents across the political and demographic spectrum, all coming together to defend the Second Amendment.
Selling out a movie premiere of “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” having more than 170 attendees and receives over 1,000 likes on Facebook in under 3 months
“I am humbled by the number of supporters we are seeing across the county,” stated Michael Schwartz, founder and Executive Director of SDCGO. “Whether it’s a ‘like’ on Facebook, a handshake at the grocery store, or a new membership donation online, we are seeing and hearing from people who are thankful there is finally an organization focused on the Second Amendment at a local San Diego level.”
SDCGO formed with the mission of protecting the Second Amendment at municipal and county level, ensuring those politicians and candidates who are against the Second Amendment, never reach higher office where they can cause more harm to sane, trained, law-abiding gun owners, at the state or federal level.
“Supporters, are standing up with us because they have seen politicians time and again use political pandering to pull a wool over the eyes of voters. We are here to ensure that doesn’t happen when it comes to our Second Amendment rights,” said Schwartz. “We will monitor votes, we will follow statements closely, and when our elected officials’ true colors are shown to be against law abiding gun owners, we will defeat those officials in elections.”
With a growing online presence and a steady flow of San Diego residents signing up to become members, the SDCGO is quickly becoming the premier organization focused on the Second Amendment in our county.
“We welcome anyone and everyone who cares about the Second Amendment. You don’t have to be a gun owner, you just have to be willing to stand with us against politicians who want to encroach on law abiding citizens’ rights,” finished Schwartz.

Wish we could get Michael to run for office. Maybe against Peters or Davis
I’m so excited to be a part of this movement! There are organizations out there that represent gun owners and the 2nd amendment on the national level and just a few on a state level, but this is the first time a local movement has really started to get some momentum! Gun owners and constitution lovers in San Diego County have some issues that are unique just to us locally. I’m very happy that these issues are finally being addressed. I’m excited by where this movement is going!
I’m surprised how fast this movement has grown. Law-abiding gun owners are constantly being beaten up by our government in CA, where 1 in 5 people own a gun. As word spreads about how effective this group is I expect the membership to grow like wildfire. Pretty soon we won’t have a single anti-gun politician winning a seat in San Diego!
It is so great to have a local group to back gun owners here in San Diego county. Too often it seems like gun owners are not heard by the local government when there are only a few voices here and there, but now having a group dedicated to giving voice to gun owner’s concerns and rights it feels like some real progress can be made. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for SDCGO!
