San Diego – Flanked by advisory board members and volunteers, Michael Schwartz made it official on Oct 21 – announcing the formation of a new 2nd Amendment group for local city and county issues, the San Diego County Gun Owners PAC.

“We have seen attempts to limit our 2nd Amendment rights at the local level time and again,” Schwartz stated. “Whether it is increasing fees on gun stores, restricting access to conceal carry permits, or simply refusing to allow gun ranges in certain communities – our rights have been slowly chipped away and now we are taking a stand,” Schwartz noted.

Michael Schwartz is a long time 2nd Amendment advocate and volunteer across San Diego and has been named the Executive Director of the new San Diego based Second Amendment group.

“The national and state groups are good, but we found there is also a need to push back on our elected officials when they infringe on our rights locally,” said Schwartz, “because locally is where Sacramento and Washington D.C. politicians start. We are that voice for San Diego County gun owners.”

The San Diego County Gun Owners have launched their new website sdcgo.org with a ratings page listing local city and county elected officials with a thumbs up, thumbs down, or undecided ratings. These ratings are based on voting record and conversations with the elected officials.

“We are encouraged by many of our elected officials’ support for the 2nd Amendment, but we stand ready, with our campaign war chest, to take on any candidates or officials who encroach on those rights,” stated Schwartz.

  1. The anti-Second Amendment groups are using the political tactic of attaxing the gun manufacturers and the local shops. Having more/better representation for the small businesses is a great step in the RIghts direction. And yes, I intentionally misspelled attacking.

  2. Michael Schwartz is at it again, Hooyah Michael Schwartz! Given the current geo-political events and the terrorism that is at our door step, the time is right for the San Diego County Gun Owners PAC. Liberty is not a menu item, you can’t pick and choose which of your God Given Rights you will support, you must support all of them, even if you don’t agree with some of them. Whether you are a man or a woman, you have to do all you can do to defend your family. You will regret everyday of your life going forward, if something happens to one of your loved ones and you did not do all you cold do to ensure their safety. Furthermore, your children should be trained on how to use and be safe with a weapon. If you are scared of guns, go out and get some training. For those Politicians who would vote to restrict and infringe upon others the right to “Keep and Bear Arms,” shame on you. If you have not been on the San Diego Gun Owners PAC website, they have a good rating system for your local Elected Officials. Bravo Zulu Michael Schwartz.

    Respectfully,

  3. Michael Schwartz, Thank you for fighting for my rights. It is so important to let everyone know where our local elected officials stand on the 2nd Amendment.
