DeMaio Blasts Peters for Refusing to Act on Health Insurance Cost Spikes and Cancellations
Challenges Scott Peters to Honor Promise to Allow San Diegans to Keep Existing Plans
San Diego – A week after Scott Peters dismissed the growing calls for reforming Obamacare, mounting evidence proves that promises made by Scott Peters are being broken – as thousands of San Diegans have lost their preferred health care insurance and/or seen massive increases in health care premiums.
Carl DeMaio today blasted Scott Peters for his refusal to support common-sense reform of ObamaCare, saying Peters is so blinded by partisan loyalty that he is unwilling to challenge the Administration or his own Party’s leadership.
“Because of partisan politics, Scott Peters has blindly defended ObamaCare and has done nothing to help the thousands of San Diegans who are now receiving cancellation notices and are stuck with hefty spikes in premiums,” Carl DeMaio said. “Scott Peters needs to keep the promises made to San Diegans.”
What’s worse, when pressed on the disastrous implementation status of ObamaCare thusfar at a Nov 5 speech in Poway, Scott Peters dismissed major reform of the law as “silly” and flat out said “there are other things to work on.”
While Peters said he’d support giving individuals a few weeks of extra time to comply with the mandates imposed under ObamaCare, Peters has thusfar steadfastly refused to support fundamental changes in the law itself that have led to higher costs and cancellations of plans. DeMaio is challenging Peters to immediately support legislation to allow San Diegans to keep their current health insurance even if it does not comply with all the new mandates.
“It doesn’t matter if this is a Republican idea or a Democrat idea – the simple reality is people are losing their health insurance and being stuck with higher bills. It’s time Washington politicians like Scott Peters put partisanship aside and just do what is right for the people,” DeMaio concluded.

SCRIPT: DeMaio Challenges Scott Peters to
“Let San Diegans Keep Their Existing Coverage”
Hi, this is Carl DeMaio calling.
My office has been receiving a ton of calls and emails from San Diegans who have had their health insurance cancelled or are struggling with a huge increase in their monthly premium.
I don’t know if this is happening to you, but we just learned from several media reports that is happening to thousands of San Diegans. Fortunately, there is a way to fix this!
You know I’m running against our local Congressman Scott Peters, who supported the costly federal mandates that are causing all of these problems and is refusing to do anything to help these San Diegans who are losing their coverage.
Fortunately, there is a bipartisan proposal supported by several Republicans and Democrats that would allow San Diegans to keep their existing health care coverage if they want to keep it.
Today I challenged Scott Peters to support this sensible law, but as recently as last week he dismissed the idea of common-sense reforms to the health care law as -quote- “silly.”
If you are at risk of losing your insurance or are facing higher costs for health care, I want to help. Please contact my office at 619-786-8019 or email me at info@carldemaio.com
Thanks so much.

Interesting…Let’s see where Scott Peters and Carl DeMaio do agree within Health Care.
“I strongly favor reproductive freedom and a woman’s right to choose” Scott Peters

“Carl DeMaio supports a woman’s right to choose” Carl DeMaio

…of course, both are equally as evasive as what that choice is…to choose what precisely?
Oh, yeah, terminate the life of an unborn child. So that is what is meant by “reproductive freedom?”
Ah, such refreshing bipartisanship.
