Why hasn’t Obama called for Bob Filner’s resignation?

JAY CARNEY:  “He’s Commander-in Chief, he doesn’t oversee municipalities. I don’t have a comment on that.”

The proper answer would be,  “This issue is outside of President Obama’s jurisdiction.  As you know, the President’s powers are defined and specific under Article Two of the United States Constitution.  Meddling in local affairs ain’t one of those specific and defined powers.”  Carney kindasorta said that in his response.

Had Carney said that though, he would be lying — President Obama serially meddles in local affairs.  To wit:

So…Yo Barack!  Should Filner resign or will you continue to be like Nathan Fletcher and straddle the line while more women come forward?

  1. “If I had a creepy, touchy-feely uncle that nobody wanted to invite to Thanksgiving, he’d look like Bob Filner.” -President Obama

  2. No meddling in local affairs is the right answer but those days are sadly gone. Obama’s big stimulus was all about local affairs. Not to mention historical precedence Like Jackson and the Force Bill or Eisenhower in Alabama. If Obama praises local leaders when they do something he agrees with then he should admonish them when they don’t.

  3. Probably because Obama doesn’t know anything about and doesn’t care a rat’s patoot about California unless it’s coming here to fill his bag with campaign cash.

  4. “Jackson and the Force Bill ”

Some think that was the event which ultimately resulted in the Civil War. I suppose if you have a generation of South Carolinans, growing up with the idea that DC is tyrannical, their secession is compeletly understandable.

This illustrates just how fragile a Union really can be. As we both know Elliot, we study history because it has a way of repeating itself.

  5. Anybody know how many pensions Filner is collecting or will be able to collect when he gets off the bus?
Why do you people keeps sending back to office the same people who want to collect multiple pensions at the expense of the hard working private sector folks in this country?
Instead of electing people who want to work as “public servants”, you keep sending the people who make a career of being “self servants” to office so they can spike and collect multiple pensions and use a title for the rest of their lives.

  7. Yo:

    from dictionary.com…

“used as an exclamation to get someone’s attention, express excitement, greet someone, etc”

    from urban dictionary…

“A declaritive or imperative exclamation, whether alone or within a sentence.”

    From the film Rocky…

something the main character says frequently, such as “Yo, Adrian.” (That could be a Philly thing too.)

    Also, see Troll…

“One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.”

“One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. ‘you’re nothing but a fanboy’ is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.”

“Yo”—how two Philly people, of the same gender, address one another (which Democrab knows, because he’s from Philly, too)

“Yo, hon”–how two people from Philly, of opposite genders, address one another.(Democrab knows this too)

I know. I know. Calling someone from the opposite gender “hon” could get you into a lot of hot water but it’s a two way street there
