After dealing with the pension mess at the City of San Diego, did Councilmember Donna Frye really want to face years of the same discussions at the County?
Dave Rolland has the scoop at San Diego CityBeat…

Any speculation as to another Democrat getting in, with Lori Saldana and Frye now out? Or, does Saldana go into re-entry mode?

The last blog on earth had it first, and the ‘lil Rostra followed, but the first newspaper in town now has it:

I think Naomi Bar-Lev should run! She’d make a great candidate for Congress, Assembly, School Board, Central Committee, and Supervisor all in the same election!
I was in San Diego a few days last week and every insider I talked to was confident Frye would run. Another strike for the downtown echo chamber… new city hall or downtown library anyone?
In fact, they are still so confident, that now many of them are convinced this is a charade, so next week she can say that an overwhelming community “hankering” for her to run has caused a change of heart. Yeah, good way to start a campaign, looking like one can’t make up their mind (have we seen that before?). Donna, I believe, was being forthright about her decision.
Maybe she is waiting until after the filing date has passed. That way she can have the strength of being a “write in” candidate-…wait…never mind that idea.
Too-chay!
