A broad coalition of San Diego business leaders gathered today to endorse Mayoral Candidate Carl DeMaio’s plans to foster job creation.
Nearly two dozen business leaders were on hand to discuss their support for DeMaio’s – a sampling of over 500 business executives and small business owners who are supporting Carl DeMaio for Mayor.
DeMaio’s plan cuts mountains of red tape across city departments, proposes a complete overhaul of the city’s permitting process, offers targeted initiatives for the Bio-Tech, High-Tech, Clean-Tech, Tourism, Housing, and Defense sectors, and lays out proposals for improving workforce development and training.
“Carl DeMaio has a plan to help small businesses and bring prosperity back to San Diego. As a successful businessman, he knows what it takes to create jobs. As Mayor, DeMaio will make it easier to start a business, hire new employees, and he will make San Diego more welcoming to companies looking to relocate,” said Janie Ramshaw, CEO of Ramshaw Industries.
“Over the past decade, City government has been a hindrance rather than an advocate for small businesses. Carl’s plan lays out over a hundred reforms that will transform San Diego into the leader in innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation,” noted Ursula Wagstaff, owner of CA Botana International.
“DeMaio is the only candidate that has a comprehensive strategy to reform the broken bureaucratic system and cut the red tape at City Hall,” said Steve Quinn, American Property Enterprises.
DeMaio welcomes the support of business leaders and pledged to work with them to continue to solicit ideas from them on how to make city government friendlier to job creation.
“No one understands the amount of red tape and government hurdles that businesses have to deal with than small business owners. These individuals are the backbone of our local economy and I am honored to have the their support,” said DeMaio
