The news just might put an end to the absurd-sounding birther claims that Obama wasn’t born in the United States.
Or perhaps not — there’s already doubt the document is the one birthers have been asking for. Conservative blogger Patterico — not a birther — explains why:
“I’m not sure this is the long form. This looks to be simply the original Certificate of Live Birth.
“We were told the “long form” was called a “Record of Live Birth.” A document that was half handwritten:
“The first is that the original so-called ‘long form’ birth certificate — described by Hawaiian officials as a ‘record of live birth’ — absolutely exists, located in a bound volume in a file cabinet on the first floor of the state Department of Health. Fukimo said she has personally inspected it — twice. . . . .
Before she would do so, Fukino said, she wanted to inspect the files — and did so, taking with her the state official in charge of vital records. She found the original birth record, properly numbered, half typed and half handwritten, and signed by the doctor who delivered Obama, located in the files.
“This document has signatures, but it is not ‘half handwritten.’ And it is not called a ‘record of live birth.’
“So until Ms. Fukino tells us that the document just released is what she saw, which she has been calling the “record of live birth” that is half handwritten, I don’t think this is it.”
If Patterico’s suspicion is accurate, then Obama hasn’t doused the birther issue — he’s poured gasoline on it.

furthermore, i’m so glad we gave him the opportunity to look sympathetic to the public now.
now the narrative isn’t that his failed economic policies and lack of any real plan for the future have put the country in a precarious financial position, it’s that the man had to take the time out of solving our country’s problems to defend himself from ridiculous claims from extremists.
that’s how they’re already spinning this, as well they should be. this is a PR disaster that apparently we can thank mr. trump for.

Donald Trump just gave Obama a whipping in full public view. He made Obama go belly up and whine in public. I have never had any sympathy for Republicans like yourself who are afraid to win. With friends like you Republicans don’t need enemies.

Because that’s why birthers won so many elections in the 2010 cycle.
So please explain to me how trying to stay on message and win the important battles is being “afraid to win.”
Hopefully this subject will take its rightful place alongside
whether Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame, as the
most boring topic around.
