14-year-old cartel assassin’s mom arrested in San Diego

The mother of the suspected 14-year-old cartel assassin responsible for at least four beheadings has been arrested and charged with being in the United States illegally.

Border Patrol agents arrested Yolanda Lugo Jimenez, 43, at her San Diego apartment on Monday according to a federal complaint.

Court documents show Lugo was deported in September of 1997 and admitted that she possessed no legal documentation to be living inside America.

It was Lugo’s son, Edgar Jimenez Lugo, who was arrested last week in Mexico on suspicion of ruthlessly beheading cartel rivals of the South Pacific drug cartel. The 14-year-old’s cartel moniker was El Ponchis (The Cloak).

Mexican Military personnel captured the young murder suspect at the Cuernavaca airport where he was trying to board a plane headed to the United States border with his 16-year-old sister. Authorities say the boy was headed to California where his mother was living.
