Uhhhh, Murph, we think DeMaio beat you to it on your “moments ago” post. See below.

  2. Sanders Loves Taxes says:

Is anyone going to call Jerry Sanders out on this blog for backing a sales tax? Seriously, is he even a republican any more?

  3. Thor's Assistant Rostra Administrator (Thor's Assistant) says:

“It is getting increasingly difficult to avoid that this Mayor’s answers to the financial problems at the city aren’t cuts, they are new taxes. This Mayor has been fairly popular… not sure if that will be the case if he decides to take a whack at small business owners during a recession.” – Criticus

  4. Richard Rider says:

It’s not just that Sanders is backing the sales tax. The amazing part is that he went with the two most left wing city council members to the SDUSD board and promised to help them persuade the state legislature to reduce the 2/3 vote requirement for parcel taxes down to 55%.

Does ANY reputable Republican do that — call for the gutting of Prop 13? A Republican who thinks what this state needs is more taxes passed with lower threshholds?

Any defenders left out there for Jerry Sanders?
