The item below is a compelling “Exhibit A” for convincing Republicans, Libertarians, and perhaps many “Decline to State” and AIP voters to support and contribute to the Steve Rosen campaign for the San Diego Unified School District Board.

(As the San Diego political cognizanti know, Steve made the runoff by a tight margin, beating the complacent incumbent for the second runoff spot. He faces a spirited contest culminating in this November’s election.)
I’m making a small contribution today — and I seldom contribute to candidates in general and to school board candidates in particular.
I met Steve very briefly and heard him speak — and I was suitably impressed. Clearly he offers the rare, intelligent, innovative voice of reform — something feared by the education labor unions and educrats. He’d be the odd school board member who actually WOULD put the needs of the children before the the “needs” of the district employees and the construction labor unions.
The email/Facebook posting below is from Rosen’s teacher opponent — Kevin Beiser. Beiser has a fundraiser scheduled (somehow I’m invited), and here are the four sponsors of the event listed in HIS email:
Hon. Toni Atkins
SD City Councilmember Todd Gloria
The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund
The San Diego Democratic Club
These are all uber-liberal individuals or outfits. Clearly, this guy is the labor union’s anointed candidate. I’m sure the list of campaign contributions Beiser received for the June primary — coupled with IE (independent expenditures) on his campaign — back this up.
In this race, the line is clearly drawn.
NOTE: We Libertarians don’t give a hoot about whether or not a candidate is gay, but we care VERY much about what a politician will do for us or (more likely) TO us once elected. This gay organization (presumably a PAC) doubtless backs ONLY progressives, socialists and liberals. I doubt they are holding any fundraisers for Carl DeMaio!
