UPDATED — Dumanis Sacks Campaign Manager

UPDATE: The San Diego Union-Tribune has its own story, posted a couple of hours after VOSD — the UT gave credit to VOSD. The story’s second graf says the firing means Dumanis is having a rough time:

The move indicates a rocky start for Dumanis as she competes with fellow Republicans — City Councilman Carl DeMaio and state Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher — for endorsements and campaign donations. Democratic Congressman Bob Filner is also running.

Voice of San Diego has the story.

Tom Mitchell, the ex-manager, said in an interview that Dumanis fired him last Friday. He said the split was amicable, but he wasn’t sure why she made the change.

“I had things that I was not happy with and I didn’t really have a chance to express that,” Mitchell said. He declined to elaborate.

No word yet on how much money Dumanis raised — or didn’t raise.

Kudos to Liam Dillon for the scoop.
