SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Brian Jones, R-Santee, today took the oath of office for his second term in the Assembly, pledging to uphold the California Constitution and fight for California’s taxpayers.
“I am honored to have taken the oath to represent East San Diego and Riverside County residents and to have the opportunity to continue to work for real change at the State Capitol,” said Jones. “With the Democrats holding a supermajority in the Assembly, Republicans will have an important watchdog role and we will call it when we see it when Democrats try and overstep their reach.”
Since his election to the Assembly in 2010, Assemblyman Brian Jones quickly earned a reputation as a strong fiscal conservative and a vocal advocate for a smaller, more responsible government. His articulate commentary and leadership abilities earned him the appointment as Chairman of the Assembly Republican Caucus.
Jones added, “As I did in my first term, I will fight hard on your behalf to make government work for the people, not the other way around. The Assembly Republican Caucus will continue our efforts to represent our constituents and protect families and their livelihoods from an ever intrusive government.”
