I’ve seen Jeff Schwilk’s emails before, many of which “border” on something pretty obvious.
It looks like some foaming at the mouth is now taking place over David Alvarez.
Call me idealistic, but I’d like to think if anyone works against Alvarez’ election as mayor, it would be based on a disagreement with his policies, or a question about his experience, or maybe simply because the vision of another candidate resonates more for them.
Not because of where his parents were born.
I know conservatives and the Republican Party recognize this ugliness for what it is.
Next will be allegations Alvarez was born in Kenya.

Does anyone know the answer? This new article says his parents came here from Mexico in the 70’s as farm workers. Those were/are almost always illegal aliens since “guest workers” by nature must return to their home countries after a couple years. Alvarez was apparently born in 1980 in the U.S.
This is very significant because his parents and/or relatives may be here in the U.S. illegally and he may have foreign allegiances to the country of Mexico, just 10 miles south of San Diego. If that is the case, how can he objectively support the enforcement of our nation’s laws in a major city of over 1 million residents if he has foreign criminals in his own family? David Alvarez is the candidate for San Diego mayor officially endorsed by the Democrat Party.
We need to get the answer as to the immigration status of his parents at the time of his birth. Chances are pretty good that Alvarez is a dual citizen of Mexico and the U.S. To my knowledge there has never been a Mexican citizen mayor of a major U.S. city. Alvarez would be the first, although Olga Diaz, a dual Mexican citizen anchor baby by birth, is running for mayor of Escondido in 2014. By contrast, Mexican law does not permit U.S. citizens to run for elected office in Mexico.
Please email back if you have any background on Alvarez. We need to clear this up ASAP.
