I was at San Francisco International yesterday late afternoon awaiting a flight and saw the news of the U-T sale, on my phone via Twitter.
One doesn’t need the Union-Trib anymore to hear about the Union-Trib. Or, maybe not at all. Real time news is at our fingertips, with the content and parameters of what we want to know easily designed by us. In a generation, print news will be found only in libraries and museums, I fear.
That’s the reality, not my preference — I still love holding a broadsheet and having to wash my fingertips afterwards.
