Thank You For Everything

Someone recently told me that sometimes the right decision can be the hardest. Two years ago I announced my intention to run for the California State Assembly in District 71 here in East County and, since that time, I have worked to earn the support of those who live in our communities. I have made many new friends and have enjoyed talking about the issues we are facing here in California. As I have said frequently, while we face many challenges, I firmly believe our potential is higher. I have also learned a lot since that time, how to be proactive with policy ideas and the continuing need for strong, conservative leadership at every level of government.

The biggest lesson I have learned, however, is that this is not the right time for me to serve in the Assembly. After a significant amount of prayer and discussions with my family, we have come to a decision that my best place is right where I am, with my family and working in the office of Congressman Hunter. I have been blessed with this journey and I cannot thank everyone enough for their significant encouragement and support. Congressman Hunter has gone out of his way to support my efforts and I will forever be thankful to him and his family for all they have done and continue to do for me and my family.

It was important to me to run a strong, positive campaign that focused on conservative principles and values and in a manner that not only reflected the true character of East County, but also one in which they could be proud. I know some will be disappointed by my decision, and for that I sincerely apologize. This decision is not a reflection of anything other than the fact that God has other plans for me that do not include Sacramento.

Thank you again, it was my honor.
