Steve Vaus Tops Fundraising Among All Supervisor Candidates

The Mayor Steve Vaus for Supervisor campaign raised $232,000, the top amount among all Supervisor candidates in San Diego County for the most recent reporting period and an amount that far exceeded the campaign’s fundraising goal.

The total raised by Vaus was the highest of the ten candidates running in the three Supervisorial Districts on the 2020 ballot. Vaus’ primary opponent, Joel Anderson raised only $93,775, placing him eighth on the list. Notably, Vaus raised more than double his primary opponents combined.

“I’m grateful to the hundreds of supporters who contributed to my campaign. We’re building a strong momentum that will take us through the rest of the year, into the March primary election, and on to November,” Vaus commented.

Mayor Vaus has also racked up an impressive list of endorsements including all four Republicans on the Board of Supervisors: Dianne Jacob, Jim Desmond, Kristin Gaspar and Greg Cox. Also, Sheriff Bill Gore, San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, La Mesa Mayor Mark Arapostathis, El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells and numerous East County and San Diego elected officials.

Important organizations supporting Mayor Vaus include the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County, the San Diego County Deputy District Attorneys Association, Fraternal Order of Police – San Diego, San Diego County Probation Officers,  San Diegans Against Crime, Associated General Contractors (AGC), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and the Lincoln Club of San Diego County.
