Sports analysis comes to Rostra!

Life isn’t just about politics. Indeed, what about sports?

Unless of course you’re a fan of the Dodgers or Raiders and thus have no life, there is so much more to the world than politics.

No doubt, lots of political junkies also love all that sports competition has to offer. That shouldn’t be a surprise, as there are plenty of parallels between the two. Even moreso, lots of political players of significant philosophical differences often still share a love for their local sports team and put their differences aside during that very rare path to a World Series or Super Bowl.

With that, we are excited to break out of the norm a bit — ok, a lot — by adding sports to our repertoire.

We’re very pleased to have columnist Jake Cloke join us in the SD Rostra lineup (lame cliché, we know). Jake comes to us with a refreshing perspective on the NFL, about which he’ll be writing weekly, while occasionally posting a smattering of other offerings, such as the Ryder Cup.

Jake is a good golfer in his own right. He’s a Padres fan. He’ll be in two NFL Fantasy Leagues and a half dozen weekly pools this season. We’ll forgive him for his love of the Steelers, but at least that team’s fans have a life.
