I received an enthusiastic robo-call tonight urging me to not sign any petition to repeal the new and increased San Diego City minimum wage. The call indicated we should pay higher wages in San Diego because we respect hard working people. And it professed to be from a Bill Walton. No way to verify it, but THE Bill Walton is a sports legend and by all accounts a great guy who lives in San Diego.
I wonder what he pays his housekeeper, gardener, car detailer, and any other personal service people who help him or his wife.
I can’t verify the call came from THE Bill Walton, but:
1) Someone should tell the robo-call vendor that a voter located in Encinitas can’t sign a San Diego City petition.
2) Do I really want advice re minimum wage from a multi-millionaire?
