Plescia Supports Governor Brown’s Pension Reform Plan

(San Diego, CA) – George Plescia today announced his support of Governor Brown’s state employee pension reform plan. Governor Brown released a twelve point plan outlining his proposal earlier this year. Mr. Plescia has called on Assemblyman Marty Block to join Governor Brown in pushing the reform through the Legislature. Mr. Plescia is running to represent San Diegans the California State Senate.

“I support Governor Brown’s common sense pension reform plan,” said Plescia. “I don’t always agree with Governor Brown, but I agree with him that the legislative Democrats’ plan does not do the job for Californians. It’s unfortunate San Diego voters won’t be able to vote on state pension reform this year. I urge Assemblyman Block to join the Governor’s effort to get pension reform passed this year.”

Governor Brown said this Monday in Oakland that the hybrid plan that legislative Democrats have put forth, “… doesn’t do what the state needs,” and that their proposal, “doesn’t do the job at all.” (Governor Brown’s comments: Capitol Public Radio)

The pension reform proposal includes:

George and his wife Melissa, live with their three year old daughter and two German Shepherds in La Jolla. George is a small business consultant, who recently served in the California State Assembly from 2002-2008.
