Communities United for Tomorrow’s Economy, a new political action committee supporting the re-election of Mayor Kevin Faulconer, raised $600,000 in the first month since its formation.
The committee is a coalition of local business associations, sponsored by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Lincoln Club of San Diego County.
“We are committed to ensuring our region remains a viable place to do business and creating a thriving regional economy that provides opportunity for all San Diegans,” said Jerry Sanders, Chamber President and CEO and former Mayor. “Re-electing Kevin Faulconer as Mayor is critical to that goal.”
A recent poll commissioned by the Lincoln Club showed that 62% of likely voters hold a favorable opinion of Mayor Faulconer, with only 13% of likely voters holding an unfavorable opinion.
“San Diegans of all political stripes believe that our City is on the right track under the leadership of Mayor Faulconer,” said Ryan Clumpner, Executive Director of the Lincoln Club. “This committee reflects our united commitment to maintain that positive trajectory.”
During the month of June, the committee received contributions from the Chamber, Lincoln Club, California Restaurant Association, Building Industry Association, Associated General Contractors, Lodging Industry Association, and California Apartment Association.
Paid for by Communities United for Tomorrow’s Economy supporting the 2016 re-election of Mayor Faulconer, sponsored by and with major funding from the Lincoln Club of San Diego County and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee.
