Hello everybody! Hopefully everyone had the chance to witness a wonderful start to the new NFL season with some exciting games! Week 1 brings a lot of excitement, but the conclusion to the week also warrants a strong caution – DON’T OVERREACT TO WEEK 1. There are teams that looked horrible in their debut that will probably make the playoffs (looking at you, Bengals). There are also teams that played amazing in their first game, with hopes that the negative offseason predictions will be incorrect regarding their outcome. Either way, there’s much more exciting football right around the corner in Week 2!
(Side note: next to each section, I will update the standings of my picks. We had a nice start so far!)
PICKS (13-3 Overall)
Washington Commanders (1-0) @ Green Bay Packers (1-0)
- Both teams entered this season with high hopes for a strong NFC Playoff run. The Packers looked dominant in their win against the Lions, and I think the home field advantage will help them get a win on Thursday Night Football.
Cleveland Browns (0-1) @ Baltimore Ravens (0-1)
- The Ravens lost a heartbreaker on the road in Buffalo on Sunday night, but overall they looked STACKED. I expect them to blowout the Browns in the Baltimore home opener.
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) @ Cincinnati Bengals (1-0)
- While the Bengals don’t have a good track record in the month of September, I’m taking them in the home opener. Don’t count this offense out, even after a slow Week 1.
New York Giants (0-1) @ Dallas Cowboys (0-1)
- Russell Wilson and the Giants’ offense STRUGGLED in their first game, which I believe will be consistent this whole season.
Chicago Bears (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (0-1)
- The Lions NEED a bounce back win, especially against a division opponent.
New England Patriots (0-1) @ Miami Dolphins (0-1)
- Honestly, who the heck knows what to think of this game. Don’t count on me to watch it, but I’ll take the Dolphins.
San Francisco 49ers (1-0) @ New Orleans Saints (0-1)
- Another game that I really don’t expect much excitement from. Even though they are plagued with injuries, I’ll take the Niners.
Buffalo Bills (1-0) @ New York Jets (0-1)
- The Bills completed a miraculous comeback on Sunday night, starting their season off on a great note. I think they keep it going here.
Seattle Seahawks (0-1) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)
- Aaron Rodgers looked quite good in his Steelers’ debut, but the run game was lacking. If they can figure out how to run the ball and stop the run on defense, I think the Steelers can win big.
Los Angeles Rams (1-0) @ Tennessee Titans (0-1)
- The Rams won a nail-biter against Houston, and I expect them to start the season off as a 2-0 team, on top of the NFC West.
Carolina Panthers (0-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (1-0)
- The Panthers looked awful in Week 1, and until they show some signs of life, I will pick their opponents to win.
Denver Broncos (1-0) @ Indianapolis Colts (1-0)
- This is quite a big upset to predict, but I was not impressed by Broncos QB Bo Nix in their first game. Kinda crazy, I know, but gimme Daniel Jones and the Colts.
Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) @ Kansas City Chiefs (0-1)
- I like the defending champs again this year, and the Chiefs didn’t look impressive in Week 1.
Atlanta Falcons (0-1) @ Minnesota Vikings (1-0)
- This will be an awesome battle of 2nd-year quarterbacks on Sunday Night Football. Give me the home team!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) @ Houston Texans (0-1)
- The Texans’ offense looked pretty atrocious against the Rams, but like I said, let’s not overreact to Week 1 too much.
Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) @ Las Vegas Raiders (1-0)
- I think QB Justin Herbert has a strong case for MVP this season if he plays like he did on Friday night. This should be a fun divisional matchup on Monday Night Football.

- The Panthers defense has been terrible since last season, and I think Conner has a big day.
