A month after accompanying an  American delegation to Guatemala City, past State GOP Chairman Ron Nehring joins a similar group  shortly to visit Pakistan and India. The exact timing, route and purpose are being kept confidential for purposes of security in that perilous part of the world.  Ciiting  the importance of the region in the ongoing global war on terror, Nehring said, “The death of Osama bin Laden and ongoing US operations in the region make Pakistan of utmost importance for American interests, and I’m pleased to join this timely delegation as an opportunity to learn as well as share the American perspective on today’s issues ranging from security to the economy.”

In April, Nehring addressed the  “Union Partidos de Latino Americanos” in Guatemala on how to resist the 21st Century socialism of Hugo Chavez and other authoritarian governments.  He has also traveled and spoken in Iraq (2006), Egypt and the Gulf states.

Retired state party chairmen usually hit the golf  links and try to forget about public affairs for a good long time.  Ron Nehring is on a different path, and it is the right one.
