There’s a lot of misinformation about James O’Keefe’s various investigations into the defunct ACORN, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), NPR’s biases, and his other activities. O’Keefe discussed that misinformation and gave his perspective Saturday at the Eagle Forum San Diego convention.

O’Keefe didn’t try to bug Landrieu’s office, as a lot of the media and left-wing echo chambers have falsely claimed.  Here’s a link to a Washington Post correction of that inaccuracy. Anyone who tells you otherwise is admitting his/her ignorance of the facts.

This phony story may have arisen from FBI reports that O’Keefe had a listening device in his possession. At the speech, O’Keefe held out what he said was the listening device – his iPhone.

The vague report was promptly exaggerated into wiretapping by those responsible journalists from the Washington Post and other outlets, who wet themselves with glee over false rumors O’Keefe was going to be charged with a felony. The Post and others corrected their false claim of bugging, but the lie is still widespreadly believed.

In the end, O’Keefe pled guilty to a misdemeanor of entering federal property under false pretenses, which because of a federal judge’s strange decison, put his appearance at the convention in jeopardy.

Just in time, the attempt by judge Daniel E. Knowles III to prevent O’Keefe from leaving New Jersey for the convention was overturned.

Now here’s some links to videos I made of his speech (not to be confused with the workshop he and colleagues gave later that day on investigating stories with new media):

Part 5

I’ve still got a couple more videos to post from the meeting, including former Rep. Duncan Hunter (the Elder, and  Rep. Brian Bilbray, and an interview with a Vista Tea Party member.
