Former Encinitas Mayor Jerome Stocks Declares Candidacy for the 76th Assembly District

ENCINITAS, CA – Today, Republican Former Encinitas Mayor Jerome Stocks announced his candidacy for the 76th State Assembly District. Stocks announces his candidacy with endorsements from elected officials across North San Diego County, including (partial list):

For 12 years, Stocks served as Mayor and Councilman for the City of Encinitas, CA. During this time he provided leadership on a local, regional, state and national level by serving on multiple boards including NCTD, North County Fire Dispatch JPA, San Dieguito Water District, and as Chair of SANDAG, successfully lobbying on behalf of the City as well as the San Diego Region. This history of successful public service started with his appointment in 1997 to the Encinitas Parks Commission.

Whether it’s raising gas and car taxes, trying to force single payer healthcare on us, or wasting billions of dollars on high speed rail, they are making it harder for working families to live here. I’m a strong fiscal conservative who supports the repeal of the gas tax, smaller government, and finding smart solutions to fix our crumbling infrastructure. I have over a decade of experience fighting for smaller and more effective government.”
“Even in 2008, Jerome had the foresight to know that high speed rail was too expensive and not practical, and was the sole vote on SANDAG against endorsing the Bond Measure 1A to fund it. I’m proud to support Jerome Stocks for Assembly.” said former Encinitas Mayor Christy Guerin.
Stocks and his wife Lisa have lived in Encinitas for over 30 years with their three children. Jerome Stocks has extensive experience in public service and business. As the owner and President of J Stocks Insurance Services, Inc, since 1981 he has experience in Multi-line Insurance Coverage for individuals, families, and employer groups.
