“We reformed San Diego – now let’s reform Washington”
San Diego – Carl DeMaio will gather with hundreds of campaign supporters tonight for his official campaign kickoff event. The businessman-turned-government reformer said he is frustrated with partisan bickering in Washington and intends to replicate the same approach to “reform” that worked well in San Diego.
“Just as we did to save the City of San Diego from bankruptcy, we need a national Reform Agenda to balance the budget and get people back to work,” DeMaio said.
“I see myself as a ‘new generation Republican’ who wants to challenge the party to focus on pocket-book, economic and quality of life issues in a more positive and inclusive way – rather than issues that are frankly none of the government’s business in the first place,” DeMaio said.

Wednesday, June 26 5:30-7pm
Coles Carpet Showroom

“I’m thrilled to see my campaign bringing together supporters from across the political spectrum, and I look forward to continuing to unite San Diegans with our problem-solving approach,” DeMaio noted.
DeMaio carried the 52nd District with 58% of the vote in 2012 and several recent independent polls show him an average of 10 points ahead of Scott Peters – and winning the key demographics of women, youth, and Latinos – something rare for a Republican.
