Covid-19 Not Our Greatest Threat

I read the statement from Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly outlining his removal of Captain Brett Crozier from command of the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

Americans are torn between the two sides. Which side is behaving according to the values that made our nation great?

I think the conflict may arise from the ethical standard or moral categories each is applying.

Most of us unknowingly make government and its military a law unto itself … despite the encroachment on property/liberty at home necessary to support an offensively deployed military in 150 countries and the ensuing costs afterwards.

Modly might define “patriotism” as “loyalty to America First.” I define it this way: “loyalty to the ideas upon which our great nation was founded.”

Big difference.

If we use Modly’s ‘American Security’ ethic as our highest value we probably side with him.

If, on the other hand, we attempt to uphold a transcendent ethic which precedes and supersedes “America” dating back to Cicero and Christ ( i.e. laws of nature and Nature’s God) we probably won’t.

Modly seeks peace via force, offensive power. I do not.

Power? All for it. Strong military? Yes, but not immorally deployed at the expense of our soldiers, families, property and loss of freedom here at home (blowback).

Find yourself agreeing with the Secretary of our Navy? Think of Modly’s value system next time you walk through security at the airport and pay your taxes. We can’t have it both ways.

Despite what we’re told, Covid-19 is not the greatest threat facing our nation. I’m with former Joint Chief Admiral Mullen. It’s our debt.

Every departure from our ideals that allows our lawmakers to operate beyond their just jurisdiction is an attack on our pursuit of happiness here at home.

  1. I don’t understand the purpose or message of this post. The Captain broke the chain of command. Period.

  2. @Eric Andersen

I define (“patriotism”) this way: “loyalty to the ideas upon which our great nation was founded….”

That sounds great, but what are those ‘ideas’? and why are you Eric Andersen not insisting that these ‘ideas’ be taught in public schools?
Answer: it is not in the best interest of the globalist progressives and they appear to have complete power over public education.

Sec of Educ Betsy DeVos does not appear to mind based on her response to my letter.

It’s a moot point really as we (American conservatives) have been mute and too pre-occupied on local issues for far too long to notice that we are at the point of losing our republic.

We thru our silence have allowed public schools to teach this globalist agenda over the last 50+ resulting in students being deliberately dumbed down. (*Book by Charlotte Iserbyt – ‘The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America’).

I somehow assumed that the Baby Boomers and Greatest Generation would come together and unite to correct America’s course if it swayed over to the Socialism or/and Globalism side. Apparently I was wrong. There is no organized offense.
BUT the Democrats are very well organized in their efforts to take down our republic, funded by George Soros and others.

That day may soon come when we read in the morning newpaper
‘Electoral College lost it’s Power- America is a Democracy’

The 2 most immediate threats to our Republic before the November election are: (1) The Popular Vote Act and (2) National vote by mail. If you educate yourself and find out why the Electoral college is so important, then get active sharing that info before our republic is gone. Our Founding Fathers would be horrified to learn what we have allowed to happen to America.
If you want to retain our Republic, get active now before it is too late.
If you want any other form of gov’t, do nothing, because you will get it soon.

Lost me at Patriot and Public Schools. What truth or Constitutionally enumerated power conserves public schools?

…”Lost me at Patriot and Public Schools. What truth or Constitutionally enumerated power conserves public schools?”

@Eric – Not sure exactly what you are asking, but education is not mentioned in the Constitution..
    Why ?
The Founders wanted most aspects of life managed by those who were closest to them, either by state or local government or by families, businesses, and other elements of civil society. They stressed that we, parents, teachers, other concerned citizens have a duty and responsibility to ensure that our next generation knows the real meaning behind our founding documents.
We all know (or should know) what happened next. Local, state and federal gov’t took over public education led by Progressive Globalists to take the burden off parents on educating their children so both parents could work outside the home.
So over the last 60+ years, generations of students have been deliberately dumbed down.
As I have just learned, Education Reform to reverse this Globalist Agenda, Common Core, etc in public schools appears to be a taboo subject with both Republican and Democrats .
Please tell me I am wrong.
    If not,
we are stuck with this globalist agenda, exposed in Charlotte Iserbyt’s book – The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America’.
