So, let’s get this straight. Ammar Campa-Najjar, in a real dogfight with Darrell Issa for the 50th Congressional seat, sat down several days ago over drinks for an interview with Defend East County (DEC), in an attempt to show his supposed conservative side.
Then, after being beaten up badly for it by the mainstream media and the local Democratic Party chairman, with rumors of walk-outs by several of his staff and volunteers, he then back-peddled, calling his meeting with DEC an error in judgement. Campa-Najjar at the very least implied DEC was full of racists and white supremacists.
So much for creating any new friends there.
Then, this morning, he literally posted this on the DEC Facebook page, complete with photos, resulting in an onslaught of reactions:
“Don’t forget who was there during the #ValleyFire, it was DEC and East County residents like me and others. Actions speak louder than words.
“Yes, I got my hands dirty. Where was Issa during all this? Phoning it in doing interviews and nothing else. The only reason he ever showed his face here is because I dared to first — remember that. I’ll always be here for us, always have been. #EastCountyGrit”
So, maybe Campa-Najjar really is everything Issa claims.
Maybe he can’t decide what he is.
Or, maybe the voters will have to decide for him.
