Thor is very happy with all of us tonight at San Diego Rostra. Our humble political blog won first place in the Best News and Opinion Blog category at the San Diego Press Club Journalism Awards. To put this into context, the San Diego Press Club’s Journalism Awards is among the largest regional journalism competitions in the United States. The entries are judged by sister press club organizations across the United States. These colleagues don’t know a thing about our political realm beyond the Filner headlock. The entries are judged strictly by the standards of good solid journalism. We were up against solid competition from professionals who produce their work day in and day out on a full-time basis.

But with the collective wisdom and effort from all the contributors in our blogpen, everyone contributing a little ends up being a lot. Here is the proof.

So on behalf of Thor and all of your administrators, well done all y’all! Let’s keep up the good work and get busy defending our title again next year.

You can see all of the winners posted on the San Diego Press Club website here.
