Are You Kidding Me? High Speed Rail Hiring the Most in Need
SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Brian Jones, R-Santee, today releases commentary on yet another chapter in the saga of high speed rail hiring the “most in need.” According to the Fresno Bee, the High Speed Rail Authority voted to adopt a community benefits policy that sets hiring goals, including the hiring of the homeless and the long-term unemployed. While California’s unemployment rate still hovers over 9%, Jones says that “high speed rail should be hiring those who search for employment, are qualified, and apply for the jobs. Hire the dad who got laid off from his job, or the single mom who is trying to support her family, or the college graduates that can’t find jobs in California.”
