ASSEMBLYMAN JONES NAMED VICE CHAIR OF ASSEMBLY BUSINESS, PROFESSIONS AND CONSUMER PROTECTIONS COMMITTEE
SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Brian Jones, R-Santee, was named Vice Chairman of the Assembly Business, Professions and Consumer Protections Committee today by Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez.
“I am honored to have been named Vice Chair of the Business and Professions Committee,” Jones said. “Businesses have been fleeing California in droves, and my goal as Vice Chair will be to bring a strong business voice to the committee hearings.”
The Business and Professions Committee’s primary jurisdictions deal with policies concerning consumer protections, occupational licensing, state procurement, and state and local acquisition law.
“I am confident that Chairman Richard Gordon and I will be able to come together on many issues, and I look forward to working with him,” Jones added. “Though Republicans are few in number, there is still work to be done for the millions of constituents who elected us to represent them.”
Assemblyman Jones has also been assigned as a member of Assembly Governmental Organization, Utilities and Commerce, and Legislative Ethics Committees.
Assemblyman Brian Jones, Republican Caucus Chairman, represents the 71st Assembly District, which includes the communities of eastern San Diego County, including Alpine, Borrego Springs, Casa de Oro – Mount Helix, El Cajon, Lakeside, Ramona, Rancho San Diego, Santee and Spring Valley; and southern Riverside County, including Anza, Aguanga, Idyllwild-Pine Cove, Lake Riverside and Mountain Center.
