Philip Rivers, Catholic Radio, SD Rally for Religious Freedom… And Condom Hurling
Thanks to Philip Rivers, his wife, Tiffany, and local attorney Charles LiMandri who spearheaded a $5.2 million capital campaign to purchase the radio station KCEO 1000 AM, San Diego now has a 24 hour Catholic talk radio station. In turn, thanks to KCEO, I learned last week about San Diego’s Rally for Religious Freedom, tomorrow, Friday, March 23, noon at the San Diego County Administration Building.
As a practicing Catholic and a firm believer in the First Amendment, I plan to be there and things could get exciting. Stand Up for Religious Freedom emphasizes that it will be a peaceful, family-friendly, non-partisan, ecumenical event. However, the promise of civility does not cut both ways. After the HHS mandate from General Secretary Obama and Commissar Sebelius, we’ve seen an uninhibited display of virulent anti-Catholicism by leftists. In late January, after the HHS mandate controversy was well underway, a group of Occupy Wall Street protesters disrupted a Right to Life rally and threw condoms on Catholic school girls inside the Rhode Island state capitol building. Friendly suggestions for the condom hurlers of the left:
1) If you target believers with condoms — perhaps even Friday in San Diego — please be creative and make a sport of it. Perhaps see who can hit a
Catholic with a condom from the greatest distance. Maybe include a second contest: find out who can pelt the most Catholics with condoms from 50 feet away. It’s just sad to see the most sophisticated members of our society, leftists naturally, hurling objects with same lack of sophistication that monkeys throw their own feces.
2) In the unlikely event that a useful idiot of the Catholic Left shows up, such as Sister Carol Keehan, spare her the condom pelting. You should automatically disqualify any condom hurling contestant who pelts a member of the Catholic Left. They are exactly the sort of useful idiots you needed to pass Obamacare and thus kill religious freedom.
If only leftists were only persecuting Catholics… however that is not so. Last year, in San Francisco, everything was set in motion to put a measure on the ballot that would ban circumcision–until a court struck it down. To the right you will see a less than charming panel from the leftist activist comic book hilariously named “Foreskin Man.” You can read and view all of its blatantly anti-Semitic anti-circumcision propaganda here. Dennis Prager, an observant Jew and leading Jewish thinker said:
If the most left-wing major city in America starts arresting Jews who have their children circumcised in that city, some American Jews might awaken to the threat to Jews posed by the left.
We live in Obama’s America now. The whole country is run like San Francisco. Just ask the Amish outlaws (pictured to the right) who had their farm shut down (after a year long federal investigation!) for selling unpasteurized milk.
So whether it be for the Catholics who want people to pay for their own birth control, the Jews who want to engage in a 3600 year old tradition of circumcision, or for the audacious Amish farmer who (used to) sell raw milk… join us at a rally to push back against the crushing power of our government. Dennis Prager’s mantra is “the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.” Likewise, the bigger the government, the smaller the religious freedom.

Well articulated Ryan. Obama needs to go before he becomes another Stalin….oh wait, he IS another Stalin.
Well done, Ryan. If I see you tomorrow I can share some battles I’ve had with the Foreskin Man people
Dan:
Thanks… and you’re right, our freedoms are too few to survive another Obama term.
Brian:
Thank you as well… I would be very interested to hear about your battles with the “Foreskin Man” people. I can’t even imagine.
