Independent Poll gives Rocky Chavez a 10-point lead in Open 76th AD Primary Race

Filing for the Assembly job of term-limited Martin Garrick closed today.  Already poll results are circulating on the race among three stellar GOP hopefuls.  My sources say the survey gives retired US Marine Colonel  Rocky Chavez a  10-point lead (at 19%), Carlsbad Council Member Farrah Douglas (9%)  in second, and Republican Party leader Sherry  Hodges at  7 %.   Those sources say the poll of 400 voters was commissioned by Ed Voice, and carried out February 23 to 25  by  Smith/Johnson Research  of Sacramento.  Ed Voice is a charter school-oriented and public school choice think tank in Sacramento.

Sherry Hodges,  Farrah Douglas and Rocky Chavez are all top-tier candidates and each has strong campaign teams.  So this poll gives us an idea of where the players begin, but the three months ahead will determine where they finally finish.  Whoever wins among these three leaders, North County will be well-served.

The 76th District includes the communities of  Oceanside, Encinitas, Carlsbad and Vista.  Disclosure :  Jim Sills is assisting Rocky Chavez for State Assembly.
